Subversive Style

This blog is all about art and illustration that is subversive in nature.  By that, I mean any art that challenges convention, influences perception in an unexpected way, and is dark, strange or stylistically edgy.

This is also meant to serve as a source of inspiration to the students who are taking my general elective class, 'Subversive Style', at Pennsylvania College of Art & Design. 

As Leonard Cohen says-

"Any startling piece of work has a subversive element in it, a delicious element often. 

Subversion is only disagreeable 
when it manifests itself in political 
or social activity."
